Gift Cards and Vouchers Make Inroads Over Traditional Gifts This Christmas - Study Shows 41% of the UK Population Now Prefer to Receive a Gift Card or
London (PRWEB) November 18, 2008 -- 41% of the UK population would prefer to receive a gift voucher or gift card over a traditional gift according to a recent survey from YouGov commissioned by The Gift Voucher and Gift Card Association (The VA). 35 to 44 year olds along with those over 55 have a highest preference for gift vouchers and gift cards (55%).

According to Mr. Brand, more and more UK shoppers are familiar with gift cards than ever before.

According to The VA, gift cards and vouchers are now a £3.2 billion market in the UK, and the latest British Retail Consortium figures state an increase in internet sales in excess of 16% year on year.
